Hi! 

 

I thought I’d introduce myself!

My name is Lily, I am a fully qualified Doula, Breastfeeding Specialist, Hypnobirthing Instructor, Antenatal Teacher and a self-proclaimed ‘Birth Nerd’!

I have always had a huge interest in pregnancy and babies and worked as a nursery nurse and Nanny before having my own children. I am now a mother to three beautiful girls and live in South Devon with them and my husband.

My passion to support parents started when I struggled to breastfeed my first daughter. I couldn’t get her to attach at the breast and didn’t know where to turn. I was fortunate enough to have the support of a breastfeeding counsellor who was able to sit with me until I was able to get my daughter to feed and it meant I had the feeding journey I wanted.

Eight out of ten women in the U.K report they stopped breastfeeding before they were ready due to a of lack of support. It was this coupled with my own experience that drove my desire to train as a breastfeeding counsellor.

I went on to train with the NCT in partnership with the University of Worcester to gain a degree in Birth and Beyond, majoring in Breastfeeding and Antenatal Education. I am now a fully qualified breastfeeding counsellor and Antenatal Teacher and deliver antenatal courses as well as breastfeeding education for the NCT.

This sparked a passion to not just support parents with breastfeeding, but to also help them prepare for birth. Giving parents the tools to be able to make informed decisions about their care and ultimately have the most positive experience possible. It is here I found how Hypnobirthing can be a wonderful tool to help parents feel able and confident to birth their baby. I have trained with The Little Birth Company to deliver the Hypnobirthing Workshops and complete courses.
